HOT•BED PRESENTS
LINESPACE
HOT•BED is pleased to present LINESPACE, a solo show featuring works by Paula Cahill curated by HOT BED’s Owner and Creative Director Bryan Hoffman. LINESPACE is inspired by Arcadium’s mission of ”providing the vital element for a better future” Since its discovery in 1817, lithium has been a powerful resource used in everything from treatment of bipolar disorder to thermonuclear devices. The lightest metal in the world, lithium is sometimes referred to as “white gold” or the “new gasoline” due to its prevalence in batteries and electronics.
The works selected for LINESPACE engage core tenets of Arcadium’s purpose [of being] “change-makers, joining forces with […] customers and communities to drive progress.” Paula Cahill’s body of work is experimental in nature and derived from memories. Cahill’s constantly innovates her process and is inspired by science, personal experience, visual semantics, and art history. Catalysts for her most recent paintings include geometry, physics, Egyptian art, and Renaissance perspective, all areas that have driven progress.
Cahill’s work is interactive, inviting the viewer to track a meandering, color-changing path. Just as Arcadium is leading the way on the ever changing path of powering modern life and our global transition to clean energy.
